The video clip on the left shows a prototype of a multi-media based software defined model (SDM) developed by the center.
Through experiments with manufactured devices, we have obtained better performance results for the physical layer than conventional, single-medium-only methods of underwater communication. This technology will enable us to respond to increasingly diverse underwater service requirements.
